She's um you know, a Betty Veronica if you will. She's been caught with several sex tapes... There are all these, ah like an art, drawings that people have done.

Robbie: I bet there is!

Seth Green: Somebody's already made a costume, we're really excited all out because we love seeing people at these cons dressed up in costumes, knowing they're wearing something you came up with is super exciting.

Robbie: Out! In the corner! Things are getting a little bit bawdy this morning.

 So I took my laptop to school with me today, we have a projector in the faculty but nothing to run it off of (illogical anyone?!?) so anyway, I brundle along to class with both only to realise that no, there isn't a screen in the room and needed to backtrack to the library to beg for one.

Meanwhile, I'd started my laptop and left it on the desk with instructions for one of my trusted kiddies to set it up only to remember half way to the library that I'd left a lovely photo of Ianto and Jack making out as my desktop background... I rushed back to class hoping to catch it in the nick of time... and failed.... now I'm that weird teacher who has pics of men making out on her desktop :-S

And to add insult to injury I'd ask the tech guy to help me set up my computer for the wireless network and while I was in class the very next period, he went to my desk and did just that- He managed to get an eyeful too!!! 

Sometimes don't you just want the earth to open up and swallow you whole!!!!!

For those of you who aren't Aussie every years in Sydney there is a week long LGBT celebration culminating in a parade through the centre of the city (interestingly it started as a protest movement). I go most years and the interesting thing is that it seems to have grown to include pretty much any group in society that is marginalised by their lifestyle or beliefs. There were floats from sex workers (who interestingly combined with 'people living with disabilities' in their float), furries, kinksters, raelians, freemasons (god knows why they're included), followers of shibari, animal liberation, the greens, etc

Anyway this year had some awesome floats! There were also representation from the government police, fire service, state transit, etc and special interest groups. On the whole a fun night and a great opportunity for people to get out and show their pride at being themselves!!! It makes me wish that there was more of these type activities so that everyone could see that people come in all shapes and sizes and lifestyles :)

I believe there are pride marches in other cities/countries...have any of you every been to one? What was there and what did you think?

I came across these screencaps from the music video 'Sex on fire' by Kings of Leon and something struck me about them (though not the whole video strangely - I didn't really like it)... some sort of weird inspiration.

One day I'm gonna write a story with this as the basis for a scene in it somehow. I dunno, it's dark, harsh and a bit scaring. The guy on the bed seems somehow struggling (whether with himself or them or the situation I don't know) and the men around him, well, it's hard to say whether they're restraining him or something else...

I dunno, don't watch the video, just look at the pics and maybe you can see what I mean... It's such a weird scene, I'm so curious as to what is going on there, especially inside that guys head!!!

I worked it out today. If you look at my family history I’m a Methodist Lutheran Philadelphian Baptist with a side order of Catholic, Buddhist and Jehovah’s Witness.

 

Ok now to explain. My mother was born Lutheran but the whole family converted to Methodist when they moved and she went to a Methodist school. My Mother herself converted first to Assembly of God but lost faith, she is now Buddhist. My Father’s family were Philadelphian (don’t worry if you’ve never heard of them, they folded when Jesus didn’t arrive in the 1940s) but was raised Baptist and my uncle is now a Baptist minister. My sister is Catholic (was confirmed last Easter and when I lived in Italy I was baptized by the family I lived with -because they wanted to save my soul- so maybe I’m a lapsed catholic, but in truth Buddhism is the religion I feel closest to :) and my Aunt and cousins are Jehovah’s Witnesses… What a mix! I dated a Muslim once but it didn’t last, I wonder what we might have raised our children as?  Methodist-Lutheran-Philadelphian-Baptist-Buddhist-Muslim-Catholics?

They whimper as they pass, clawing at my thoughts and dragging me with them slightly. Their hollow hearts beating with the blood that flows through the same veins millions of times and around and around the same paths. They walk the same paths millions of time and have the same conversations over and over again. They eat the same meals and buy the same clothes. And each day they arrive at the same point to do the same thing.

And over all they live, distracted by each other or is it enchanted by each other for that’s all they have to be interested in, each other.
